Trying to find new ways to prove the validity of the electric power train in high-end sports vehicles, Steenstra GCM was toying with the idea to build an IndyRacing Indy 500 race car and let it run around the same time as the Indy 500 qualifications to see what average lap times and speeds the car could achieve.
Given Steenstra’s background in motor racing, of course this task was just up his sleeve, and this concept for the effort was created while trying to build the business plan for the main Steenstra GCM company.
